General Questions

What is direct trade coffee?

Direct trade coffee is a coffee sourcing practice where we buy directly from coffee farmers, without intermediaries. This ensures that farmers receive a fair price for their beans and allows us to maintain a closer relationship with them, ensuring high-quality coffee and sustainable practices.

Where do you source your coffee beans?

We source our coffee beans directly from smallholder coffee farms in Peru. These farms are located in the high-altitude regions of the Andes, known for producing some of the finest coffee beans in the world.

Why Peru?

Peru has the ideal climate and conditions for growing high-quality Arabica coffee. The country's diverse microclimates and rich soils produce beans with unique flavors and characteristics. Additionally, our partnerships with Peruvian women farmers support sustainable farming practices and community development.

Coffee Quality

How do you ensure the quality of your coffee beans?

We work closely with our partner farmers to implement best practices in coffee cultivation and processing. Our beans are handpicked and carefully processed to maintain their quality. We also conduct regular quality checks and taste tests to ensure that only the best beans make it to your cup.

What makes your coffee different from other brands?

Our commitment to direct trade, sustainability, and quality sets us apart. By working directly with farmers, we can ensure that our beans are ethically sourced and of the highest quality. Our roasting process is tailored to bring out the unique flavors of each batch, providing a distinct and enjoyable coffee experience.

How is the coffee packaged for shipping?

Our coffee is packaged in eco-friendly, resealable bags to ensure freshness. Each bag is designed to protect the beans from light and air, preserving their flavor until you're ready to brew.

Sustainability and Ethics

What sustainability practices do you follow?

Sustainability is at the core of our business. We prioritize environmentally friendly farming practices, fair wages for farmers, and eco-friendly packaging. Our goal is to minimize our environmental impact while supporting the communities we work with.

How do you support the farmers you work with?

We pay our farmers above-market rates for their beans, ensuring they can sustain their livelihoods and invest in their communities. We also provide training and resources to help them implement sustainable farming practices and improve their crop quality.

Brewing & Storage

What is the best way to store my coffee beans?

To keep your coffee beans fresh, store them in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Avoid storing them in the refrigerator or freezer, as moisture can negatively affect the beans' quality.

How should I brew your coffee for the best results?

Our coffee can be brewed using various methods, including pour-over, French press, and espresso. We recommend experimenting with different methods to find the one that best suits your taste.  For optimal results, use fresh, filtered water and grind the beans just before brewing.
